I'm Tumi Nkomo, a South African-American choreographer, performer, and educator whose research-based practice investigates African movement principles, contemporary performance, cultural memory, and global exchange.

I received my MA in Theatre & Performance from the University of Cape Town, and I have created and performed work across Africa, Asia, Australia, and the Americas. I am also the founder and Artistic Director of Nyane Khosi Dance Theatre.

My creative work includes the Mantsho x H&M global campaign, as well as international commissions across stage, film, cultural institutions, and community-based arts.
